Signal path tribal tech7/25/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() If you are willing to wait on the new Fractal FM3, it might be the better option.įirst of all it's great to interact with another Holdsworth fan! Congrats on your playing I really enjoyed a lot your video! Many on this forum love it, so a Helix enthusiast should be able to give you a better idea regarding its capabilities. I also owned a Helix briefly, but did not care for it at all. The Kemper cannot act as an audio interface, so you’d need to purchase one separately. However, its multi-tap delays are trickier to setup, as you have to set a master delay time, and set the remainder of the delays as a percentage (ratio) of the master. I also have a lot of experience the Kemper, and it’s capable of Holdsworth tones as well. The Axe-Fx also doubles as an audio interface, so that’s something to consider. All you need is the Mesa Dual Rectifier Vintage Orange model paired with cab with Vintage 30s, and an EQ cut at 4k. The lead tones are also easily obtained with the Axe-Fx. The Axe-Fx 3 is capable of emulating his 8 parallel delay clean tones. If Holdsworthy tones are what you’re after, I would go with one of the Fractal offerings. So basically what do you think would be the best option for the jazzy fusionish sound I'm looking for, to play, record, jam with backing tracks in the comfort of my home ? AA12 ? Kemper ? Ax8 ? Amplitube ? Others ? Now I don't know if Amplitube is good for clean fusion sound and sweet overdrive (I have started to look for videos but only see metal players). The advantage with this product (in the case it fits my jazz&fusion needs) is that for a very moderate price (audio interface+2 studio monitors+Amplitube, which would be way cheaper that the AA12/Kemper/Ax8) I could play, jam and record. I guess I need an audio interface, 2 studio monitors and that's it ? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't really know much about Amplitube beside that it is a software that can be used on my pc with my guitar. Thing is that I really want to go through the modelers route for the versatility and the ability to connect to my computer to record and play with Band in a Box.īUT, someone told me "why would you spend so much money if what your usage is gonna be like mostly playing in your bedroom with a computer ? Go with Amplitube 4!". I have been reading a lot and watching tons of videos about equipments and I am a bit lost. a nice clean sound with chorus/reverb/delay which I use to play chord melodies (Holdsworth style) I don't want to blend this thread with the other since the topic is different.Īs some of you know I used to be a jazz and jazz fusion player and in this regard I'm looking for pieces of gear which will allow me to find the sound I need : You can even download MP3 songs for offline listening.Hello everyone !
